Standing in its own spacious grounds, YHA York provides the perfect base for exploring the beautiful historic City of York, with its world class attractions, shops, restaurants and medieval streets, all clustered together within the city walls and below the imposing York Minster.

Premium rooms, great food and comfortable bar makes for a perfect city base. Rooms have 1-6 beds and facilities include restaurant, bar, self-catering kitchen, laundry, Internet access/Wi-Fi, TV lounge, games room, and wheelchair facilities.

York is soaked in history. The Romans, Anglo-Saxons, Vikings and Normans have all left their mark. Stay in this attractive Victorian hostel and beat the traffic by strolling into the centre along the River Ouse. Visit the Minster, the National Railway Museum or the Jorvik Viking Centre.

An excellent youth hostel in a great location. Leave your car here and take the short bus ride into the city.

Lovely, nicely decorated and clean hostel with welcoming and helpful staff. The self catering kitchen was too small for my taste, as most people using it were families. It also lacked recycling bins when I was there. Placed a wee bit outside city centre, but close to parks and the canal walking path, which makes for a nice scenic walk into the city. Could do with more showers, but all in all a pleasant stay.
