Standing in its own spacious grounds, YHA York provides the perfect base for exploring the beautiful historic City of York, with its world class attractions, shops, restaurants and medieval streets, all clustered together within the city walls and below the imposing York Minster.

Premium rooms, great food and comfortable bar makes for a perfect city base. Rooms have 1-6 beds and facilities include restaurant, bar, self-catering kitchen, laundry, Internet access/Wi-Fi, TV lounge, games room, and wheelchair facilities.

York is soaked in history. The Romans, Anglo-Saxons, Vikings and Normans have all left their mark. Stay in this attractive Victorian hostel and beat the traffic by strolling into the centre along the River Ouse. Visit the Minster, the National Railway Museum or the Jorvik Viking Centre.

my main reason was to see the railway mueseum at York. as to my stay I was given a four bed room on my own it was verry relaxing to stay there I do not think you would need to change anything, it is close to public transport or if you do a lot of walking it is all close by. As an Australian away from home I did enjoy my stay.

Budget meal tip

There's a little cake shop near the hostel that will sell you a bag of scones at the end of the day for only a pound; a great budget dinner or breakfast!
