L'auberge de jeunesse de Cambridge est très fonctionnelle (grands coffres, self-catering impeccable). Dommage que le petit déjeuner ne soit plus compris dans le prix de la nuitée.

I especially appreciated the really superb service that Laura (from Spain) at the front desk reception gave. She was outstanding and the most helpful staff I have run into at any of the many hostels I've visited this summer. She is to be commended! Cambridge was the very first hostel I ever stayed in two years ago and it was a pleasure to return once again this year to such a great place!

Hi Claudia, Thank you for leaving us a review, we are pleased to hear how happy you were with the customer service you received - Laura works more regularly in our London hostels and she is a credit to the YHA Network. We will be sure to pass on the good feedback! Its great that you have returned to hostelling after 2 years, we have a number of brilliant hostels across the UK so be sure to explore what YHA has to offer. We look forward to welcoming you back to Cambridge in the future. All the best Ellen Reception

Luggage storage was a big help. Kitchen was quite good although nobody was drying their dishes - maybe a bigger notice would have helped? The organisation where cups & mugs were on different sides of the kitchen meant extra walking around - hard when there were a few ppl in. None of the knives were sharp enough to chop with. Value - we stayed an cheaper places which included en-suite on our trip. YHA was a more expensive option.

Hi Cara, We are glad to hear you were pleased with our services such as the luggage storage room, we aim to provide a range of convenient services to help you make the most of your stay. Our staff regularly check the self catering kitchen to ensure it is clean and tidy, however we will look into you comments about the cutlery and the organisation of the kitchen. YHA is the only hostel in Cambridge, making it the cheapest option for visitors who do not wish to stay in one of the more expensive hotels in the city. We hope that the facilities, services and location make it good value for money. Thank you fro taking the time to leave us a review, we hope to see you in Cambridge again soon. Ellen Reception

Hi Jana, Its great you were impressed with the location of the hostel - it is very convenient being close to the station. the walk into the city centre is only about 20 min and there are a number of cafes and small supermarkets on Mill Road which is only 2 minutes away from the hostel. Our house keeping team works very hard to keep the rooms. facilities and self catered kitchen clean for our guests so they will be happy to know you appreciated this! When staying in a hostel it is good to stay in a dorm room to meet other travellers however these rooms can get busy so if you would prefer to have more space next time we also offer smaller two bed private rooms. We hope you enjoyed you travels and look forward to seeing you in Cambridge again soon. Ellen Reception

Rooms were clean and mainly 6 beds or less. Things that need improvement are lockers in rooms need to be directly tied to bed numbers by themselves being numbered and the doors into common areas or hallways need to have springs adjusted as many people found them hard to open and noisy at night.

Hi Preston, Thank you for leaving us a review, our housekeeping team works very hard to keep the hostel sparkling so it great to hear you were impressed with the cleanliness of the hostel. We try to provide lockers in each room for guest use, however we will look into assigning lockers to bed numbers. We are aware that the doors can be noisy at night, this is because they are fire doors making them very prone to banging. We do ask guests to be careful when closing them at night due to avoid disturbance to other guests. However it is important that we have fire doors in the hostel to ensure the safety of our guests. We hope to welcome you back to Cambridge soon, Ellen Reception
