On the south west coast of Finland at the mouth of the Aura River lies Turku, a medieval town that boasts a tremendous medley of history and culture. Set up base at our Turku hostels, take a walk around and you’ll find the city has a lot to offer, with an array of museums including Sibeliusmuseum (devoted to music in Finland) and Aboa Vetus & Ars Nova (museum of history and contemporary art). There's also Turku Castle, which is over 700-years-old and has a museum demonstrating the history of Turku. Or you can wander along the historic waterfront, through the market square and past the cathedral. With two universities, it’s unsurprising that Turku has a lively nightlife, with ample bars and clubs to party the night away. It’s also home to one of the oldest rock festivals in Europe - Ruisrock – which attracts world-famous artists every year.
