Munich may only be Germany’s third-largest city, but it's certainly among the favourites for a traveller and you only have to take a walk through the city streets to realise why. Its unique mix of modern living, hi-tech industries and traditional Bavarian culture combine so well. It's no wonder its motto is "München Mag Dich" (Munich Likes You). It's a wonderful charming Bavarian city; a jewel in Germany’s crown. Stay at one of our hostels in Munich and you'll get to experience some of the best known German stereotypes here. Think people wearing lederhosens, traditional German ‘oompah’ bands and giant beer halls. Things to do include visiting the Brandhorst Museum, climbing St Peter's Church, taking a stroll through the Englischer Garten (Munich’s largest green area) and visiting the excellent BMW Welt. And, of course, there's the annual Oktoberfest beer festival.
