Jasper National Park

13 Entries

Jasper National Park, Alberta, is a paradise for lovers of the outdoors. Choose from hiking, water sports, or horse riding in the summer; and skiing, ice climbing, or snowshoeing in the winter. A stay at one of our hostels here means you'll always have something to do. Take a snow coach to the Athabasca Glacier to see the glaciers of Columbia Icefield which are more than 1,200 foot deep and formed during the last ice age. Jasper National Park is the largest Dark Sky Preserve in the world, meaning it is kept free of artificial light pollution. October is Dark Sky Month in Jasper and is when the Dark Sky Festival takes place with activities and events throughout the month. Ride the Jasper Tramway for spectacular mountain views: it’s the highest and longest guided aerial tramway in Canada. Relax in Miette Hot Springs which are the hottest natural springs in the Canadian Rockies. Bring a picnic to eat outdoors at the nearby picnic site.
