Copenhagen

Copenhagen, Denmark, is a charming city of cobbled squares, a network of canals, and delightful 17th century gabled houses. Known as Scandinavia’s fashion capital, the city’s people are stylish and liberal. Visit the regal Rosenborg Castle – dating back to the 1600s, the castle is masterfully decorated and you can see the stunning crown jewels in the basement. In the National Museum of Denmark, learn about the Vikings that lived in Copenhagen in the 10th century and view Danish artwork from the Middle Ages. Tivoli Gardens is the second-oldest amusement park in the world, dating back to 1843. As well as rollercoasters, it includes a concert hall, a pantomime, and an aquarium. Don’t plan an early night at the hostel - the nightlife doesn’t take off until after midnight here, and you can easily continue the party in one of the city’s ‘morning bars’ which don’t close until 9am!
