Hostelling International Tripbook for

Bruges

Beautiful, charming and medieval – the Flemish city of Bruges is Belgium’s most popular destination. Located in the north west of Belgium and sometimes referred to as the Venice of the north, this delightful little city is full of canals and bridges, gorgeous medieval architecture and winding cobbled streets. Stay in our Bruges hostels, wander the streets and you’ll literally feel like you’ve stepped back in time. This UNESCO World Heritage Site has plenty of attractions too, including the Basilica of the Holy Blood, the Church of Our Lady and the 13th century Belfry of Bruges (if you can tackle the 370 steps). No visit here would be complete without two of its most famous exports: beer and chocolate. The city has a huge number of pubs where you can sample some famous Belgian beers, and there are plenty of chocolate shops as well as a chocolate museum.
