Hostelling International Tripbook:

Hostels in New York City

10 エントリ

The Big Apple is one of the most exciting and eclectic cities in the world. While the first few hours in the so-called 'City that Never Sleeps' can be a daunting prospect for a first-timer staying in a hostel, New York soon reveals herself to be a very engaging host. With a host of famous attractions it can be hard to know where to start. Will you begin with a visit to the New York Public Library to view the original document of the Declaration of Independence? Perhaps you might take a trip on the Staten Island Ferry to pay homage to the USA's best-loved lady, the Statue of Liberty. A guided walking tour of Ellis Island will reveal the heart-wrenching history of the many immigrants who arrived in search of freedom and the American Dream. Within a few blocks of any of our hostels, New York's favourite bites are available on any street corner and you can treat yourself to a huge slice of pizza or a hotdog – the true culinary icons of the Big Apple. As evening falls, the Big Apple comes alive with music and theatre. Head to the Village Underground in Greenwich Village to catch a live performance, and you can even have a go yourself if you're feeling brave on a Sunday open mic night. On the back to your hostel, New York can reveal another side in the glittering lights and heady atmosphere of the famous Times Square.
