Welcome to our hostel

The hostel is an incredible medieval building that was completely refurbished but it keeps the original style of the Inquisitors Palace. La posada del Comendador hostel is just in the historic centre, next to the Basilica del Pilar and with easy access to the Expo.

The hostel provides high standard accommodation in a unique building with many facilities including: Internet access, bar, disco, bike rental, laundry, self-catering kitchen and many more.

There are many monuments to see in Zaragoza, must-see places are Basilica de Nuestra Señora de Pilar, Catedral de la Seo, Palacio de la Aljaferia and a port. The best activity for a hot day is spending time in an open air swimming pool.

Enjoyed my stay. Unhappy with the parking. Had to park 15 minutes away.

The porter at the desk was incredibly helpful; good recommendations for where to park, where to eat, and best ways to get around town. We had a private room and the room itself was fine, but because you have to pay to rent sheets (which is common for hostels) it was obvious that many people did not actually use sheets and the mattresses were...used looking. Other than wanting more of a barrier between me and the mattress, bring soap. They don't provide any for washing your hands in the bathroom.

The bathrooms were clean. The cleaners do a great job. But...Many people came and went and slept on the same mattress protector and bed cover (without sheets). As it was €4 for sheets, lots of people don't get the sheets. Disgusting practice- the sheets should be in the price like elsewhere. Also I don't think the reception staff give anything of themselves- they don't seem to know anything about their city and have no idea how to treat visitors. There's no welcome, and no information 😏

Getting to us

Getting to us

Airport
There are several options to get to our hostel from the final stop at Paseo Pamplona / Puerta del Carmen. Unfortunately the most convenient bus lines are affected because of the construction of the tramline. *** a. The walk to our hostel takes about 10-15 minutes: from the final stop cross the street and keep walking along the Avenida Cesar Augusto after you pass the Mercado Central you will see the Roman walls on your right this is where you turn left in Predicadores road (Yoigo mobile phone shop on the corner) we are at number 70. *** b. From the final stop take a 5-10 min taxi ride (taxis obviously also affected by road works) *** c. Get off the airport shuttle at the Delicias train station instead and from there follow directions from the train/bus station.
Bus
From bus/train station Estacion Delicias take bus 34 and get off at Pablo Gargallo. Then walk 10 minutes.
Alternate Transport
Free public parking in our street when unavailable there is a free public car park just across the Puente de Santiago (intersection Av. de Los Pirineos - Paseo de la Ribera)
Car
Free public parking on street.
Rail
How to get to the hostel from the TRAIN and BUS Station called Estacion Delicias: Take bus 34 and get off at the stop right before Plaza de Europa (with a big obelisk in the middle) the stop is called "Pablo Gargallo / Plaza de Europa". Cross the plaza and follow the avenue alongside the river Ebro called "Echegaray y Caballero". Turn right at the 3rd street (called "Postigo del Ebro") then turn left at the end. You will find us at number 70 (lots of flags hanging from the building). The total walk takes about 10 minutes. Bus 34 frequencies: weekdays 6/7 min Saturday 7/10 min bank holidays 8/12 min.
