Penzance YHA is located in an early Georgian manor house set in landscaped gardens. The hostel offers great views of Cornwall's Mount's Bay and the Lizard Peninsula. Among other attractions, St Michael's Mount and St Ives (home of the Tate St Ives Gallery) are nearby.

Rooms have 2-6+ beds and facilities include laundry, self-catering, kitchen, garden, café and evening meals. Penzance YHA dates back to 1720, can now accommodate up to 100 guests in 22 bedrooms, most with no more than six beds. One room is fully accessible for wheelchair users and a new welcoming reception has also been created.

Penzance is a perfect area for hiking and horse riding. Additionally there’s a harbour, beautiful beaches, cultural centre and Georgian architecture all around.

I had a lovely room but it was a bit hard to enjoy due to another guest who slept quite a lot in the bunk above me. It seemed every time I went to the room she was in bed and being polite, myself and the others sharing didn't disturb her. This is all part of the normal YHA experience though sharing space with others and working around it. These things happen! :-) The rest of the building and services were wonderful.

Very informative and helpful staff. The only negative is the walking distance from transport connections of 25 minutes - maybe I will use a taxi next time! However, the directions given by YHA Penzance were precise and enabled me to get there without recourse to my GPS app.
