This was the first time I stayed as a youth hostel ( and I am 58 years old). So I was a bit nervous. But My experience was very positive and I'll definitely will do that again and also spread the word to oothers

A good hostel with friendly staff. Disappointed that the hostel cafe did not cater for quality meals during the Typhoon Linfa alert. The authorities recommended everyone get to their accommodation, but the hostel was unable to give good cafe service during this time. As we needed nourishment it was disappointing that the hostel was unable to supply at such a time. Otherwise, clean well cared for facilities at this hostel.

The room was beautiful and spacious. The kitchen, however, was limited in appliances and the way the computers were located near the fridge seemed awkward. The a/c was turned up way too high in the dining area, and the cost to send post cards was a bit exorbitant.

We appreciated that the hostel facilities cater for both western and eastern guests. As tea drinkers, we particularly liked the fact the rooms have a kettle! (So much better than American or Canadian hotels that only cater for coffee drinkers) We felt safe and easily mastered the local MTR system that was close to the hostel. We did enjoy being in a local area (rather than in a downtown tourist location). The locals were friendly and helpful.

The graffiti in the elevator area, murals, art and on site museum lend history and a personal edge to a historic place. I enjoyed the diversity of events using the conference room. The cafe could sell coffee in the morning, the store could open before 12 noon, it would be nice to have a bulletin board with employees favorite eating spots and sights. It would be good to know I could use my credit card before arriving, the baggage room really helped out with my early arrival and late departure.
