The place is not very well looked after. The common room is not very pleasant, the pool table was broken. The roof terrace is a concrete place with nowhere to sit. Tables in the courtyard were placed next to the rubbish bin. I had a private room which was ok but very basic. On my second day, there weren't many guests so they locked all the toilets on the ground floor but one, which was dripping. There was hardly any staff around and didn't seem to know much about the area.

If you had a place to compost, that would be nice. With all that space on the roof, it would be really interesting to have some kind of vegetables growing up there too. I was here during the low season, but if it were more crowded, I would invite guests for morning exercise/yoga/tai chi on the roof too. I especially liked every one of the staff - Winnie, Sam, and Jordan were here during my stay, and they were so hospitable and helpful.

You come for the location. Real nature in a crowded place like Hong Kong. Beautiful walks possible along the Plover Cove Reservoir. A cheap, simple, but clean and good hostel. Very friendly lady at the reception. Nearby restaurants are extrmely expensive, except for a hokkien-chinese place nearby.
