The Rock is New Zealand’s biggest house boat, she is purpose built and offers a warm, homely, stable environment for cruising the Bay of Islands. With a capacity of 36, the Rock is suitable for travellers of all ages who enjoy great company, new experiences, and who don’t mind getting their feet wet. The overnight cruise allows guests to encounter everything the Bay has to offer and reflects the adventurous Kiwi spirit.
The Rock features a spacious and open downstairs living area that includes a bar, dining area, lounge, pool table, piano and open fire. Outside has an open deck that is the ideal platform for the onboard activities. Upstairs, all cabins have sea views and doors that open onto observation decks perfect for viewing the scenery and wildlife.
Onboard activities include target shooting, dusk fishing, night kayaking, island walks, swimming, kayaking and snorkelling. Dinner and breakfast are relaxed affairs and a great time to swap stories with other guests. Whether travelling in a group, as part of a tour, or on your own, you will feel at home from the moment you step aboard.
What travellers think
The Rock Cruise personnel claimed that they did not receive any notice of our reservation. They had no cruise planned for the day of our reservation, Sunday, 26 Oct., nor any cruise for the next three days. We left NZ on Thursday and were, thus, unable to reschedule anything. Hence no basis for ratings. Please facilitate a refund of our deposit. Thank you.
