Welcome to our hostel

Situated just two hours from Christchurch and ninety minutes from Greymouth. This lodge is the perfect tramping headquarters to explore one of the many spectacular walking tracks. In winter this is a great base to enjoy one of the five local ski fields or to climb the glaciers. The main backpackers lodge set in the centre of town, which is a modern suntrap with great views and visiting kea (the resident Arthur’s Pass mountain parrot), giving the accommodation a cosy backpacker feel. Just opposite the lodge is the historic building with multi-share rooms perfect for backpackers and groups. A feature of this building is a mural by Cora Wilding, the founder of the New Zealand YHA.
