Wismar

Wismar is an old Hanseatic town and World Heritage Site – and simply beautiful! You can get a real sense of history in one of Europe’s best preserved historic town centres. You will find all kinds of beautifully renovated historic buildings standing right next to each other, including luxurious, modest and intriguing ones. The town is a work of art that reflects the spirit of various eras and influences. This also impressed UNESCO in 2002 when Wismar was given world heritage status. The wind on the bay and on the different island beaches of Poel, blows the clouds away. Children laugh and splash about in the water, those craving the sun simply sunbathe, trawlers chug along, dogs bark – here you can enjoy your break!
