HI Yoho National Park, Whiskey Jack Wilderness Hostel

HI Yoho National Park, The Whiskey Jack Wildreness Hostel is a 1 gem of a hostel that is a must do stop on your trip through the Canadian Rockies. This wilderness hostel is lucky enough to have both showers and flush toilets in each 9-bed dormitory. Being a much smaller hostel, the atmosphere is much more welcoming for even the shyest of travellers to meet up with people and find hiking partners around the campfire at the end of the day. The hostel is just short walk from Takakkaw Falls, one of Canada’s five highest waterfalls. The adventurous may want to walk 1.5km to the base of the falls and feel the icy cool mist. In the morning enjoy hikes to the Iceline, Yoho Lake or Twin Falls. This hostel is a SUMMER ONLY facility, open from late June to September, so please check dates of operation to avoid disappointment! Getting to the hostel: 220km west from Calgary International Airport Greyhound bus stop in nearby town of Field. No public transit to hostel hitch-hiking would be required (the hostel is a 15km uphill walk from Field) 27km west of Lake Louise. From Hwy 1/Trans Canada Hwy turn onto Yoho Valley Road (4km east of the nearby town of Field). Follow this road northbound until you reach the hostel. Parking at the hostel
