Airport
Turku has an international airport with several daily connections to Helsinki Stockholm and Copenhagen. A large number of airlines offer flights to Turku through one of these three hubs. The airport is 8 km from Turku with regular local bus connections to the centre. The bus takes about 20 minutes and costs 2 euro. There is also an airport taxi. As an alternative you can fly to Helsinki which is about 170 km from Turku. There is a direct bus connection between the Helsinki-Vantaa airport and the centre of Turku. The bus takes about 2h 30min and costs about 26 euro.
Bus
The busses number 700 and 702 leaving from Turku marketplace stop at Tuorla. These busses belong to "Föli"-ticket system and are the cheapest. See more detailed information from the Föli-website (insert From: Kauppatori To: Kaarina Tuorla). Also some busses leaving from the main bus station stop at Tuorla. They all take passengers from the cathedral bus stop or any other stop along Uudenmaankatu. Ask for a ticket to Tuorla. It will cost you a few euros and takes 20-30 minutes. If uncertain where to stop the bus watch directly ahead and when you see the tall tower dome of Tuorla 1 metre telescope move to the driver and remind him to stop at the Tuorla bus stop. Do not press the stopping signal when you see the tower because then you are dropped off one bus stop too early. The Tuorla bus stop is next to the abovementioned junction and the street signs in the photo on the right.
Ferry/Boat
If you feel adventurous you can fly to Stockholm and take one of the large cruise ships that sail twice a day between Turku and Stockholm. The cruise is a great experience and you can also visit Stockholm at the same time. The cruisers are operated by Silja Line and Viking Line.
