STF Vandrarhem af Chapman & Skeppsholmen hostel is centrally located on the island of Skeppsholmen in Stockholm, offering a unique hostelling experience aboard an old sailing ship or in a 19th century building originally used as firewood storage for the royal castle.
Aboard the ship you can stay in comfortable cabins - some have been restored back to their original style - or in regular rooms with bunk beds in the 19th century building. In the main building you will find a kitchen, common room with TV and a bar and restaurant that serves traditional Swedish food.
Af Chapman & Skeppsholmen is close to the nightlife and museums of Stockholm. In just a few minutes you can walk to the archipelago ferries at Strömskajen and further onto Kungsträdgården, or hop on a ferry to get to Skansen Open-Air Museum, Cirkus concert hall and Gröna Lund amusement park.
What travellers think
Little can be improved here. Wonderful to return 23 years after first staying here. The bar could sell beer until 11? It was a tiny thing, but I'd love to have been in time to have a beer when I return at 10.30, over-looking the ship and the harbour. Brilliant place though, staff, location, comfort. As you can see above. Perhaps recycling plastic/glass could be introduced or clear. Thank you for a great stay.

Staff were extremely helpful. We had made a booking covering two separate periods. Unfortunately the first period booking had been overlooked and when we arrived, check-in was delayed while staff re-arranged cabins. In the second period, there were a few problems with toilets and showers not functioning properly on level 2 in the land based property.

Wander both sides of Gamla Stan. The side nearer the hostel is less busy but has some interesting places.
