Hostel Stavanger St.Svithun is a modern hostel with a central location. It provides the perfect base to access both fjords and mountains and is 15-20 minutes walking distance from the town centre, where you can stroll along the cobbled streets and enjoy the shopping.
All rooms have a shower, TV and free Wi-Fi, there’s a free breakfast, an onsite café called Café Morgenrød which serves hot and cold dishes all year round, a popular outside terrace and a shop which is conveniently located at the entrance to the hostel and is open 24 hours a day.
The city of Stavanger has a bustling street life and nature is never far away. Take a boat trip on Lysefjorden to Preikestolen or Kjerag, or there are many great walks close to the hostel including around Mosvannet Lake or in the Våland gardens.
What travellers think
A hostel that's a hotel that's a hospital??? It was a weird setup, but for all that a very good quality hospital, just poorly located for visiting stavanger, a 30 minute walk into the centre!

This hostel was difficult for me to find when I arrived in Stavanger, but maybe it was just me being confused! The fact that it is part of the hospital was also confusing for me when I got there, I thought I was at the wrong place until I finally saw the HI flag. Other than that, it was a very comfy hostel, I got a two-bed bedroom and it was a nice change from the dorm style bunk beds. The included breakfast was great as well, a lot of good fuel to go hike up Pulpit Rock ;)
