If location, location, location is what you want, then Seoul International Youth Hostel is the place to stay. Located in Namsan Park, very close to the downtown area, Namsangol Traditional Korean Village and N-Seoul Tower are a 10 minute walk and Cheonggyecheon recreational park is a 15 minute walk.

Facilities include restaurant, self-catering kitchen, Internet access, laundry, rock-climbing site and a free pick up service by way of reservation. For a little bit of fun the hostel organises a ‘Gangnam Style’ tour! See the history of the Gangnam district and how much the area has changed.

Dongdaemun, Namdaemun Market, Insa dong and Gyeongbok Palace are all 10 minutes by subway. Also visit the Namsan Park which is one of the biggest parks in Seoul.

To anyone booking this hostel: they accept minors. Meaning when I stayed here for two nights there was what I have to assume was a school group right next door to my room. They were noisy and sadly I had to complain to the front staff which only sort of quieted them. For that and the fact he hostel was in the mid levels of a small mountain (I have a bad knee and didn't enjoy the trek up the hill daily) I cancelled two of my 4 (non consecutive) days here. I stayed at Won's Ville instead!
