Welcome to our hostel

HI Safari Lodge, Bolivia is not only a charming, rustic refuge for backpackers in the hilly savannah near Santa Cruz, it is also the entrance to the unspoiled nature in a fascinating sanctuary and landscape full of flora & fauna in Bolivia.

Volunteers are welcome to visit the nearby wildlife animal rescue centre, managed by AFASI-Foundation.
Only one hour from Santa Cruz, the sanctuary Living Savannah (next to the Safari Lodge) gives nature lovers the opportunity to enjoy an amazing experience exploring the Amazonian and Chiquitania jungle, with lagoons, rivers, and very a unique landscape. A huge quantity of different birds can be seen, reptiles can be watched and you can listen out, and scale the trees for monkeys. Bigger animals are often seen nearby, too.

HI Safari Lodge is more than a hostel - it's a refuge and place to relax for humans and animals alike. is a place where you can stay for more than a few days to relax, to enjoy the nature, to take fascinating pictures and learn a lot about the fascinating Bolivian nature. Be welcome!

A lovely place - in nice natural setting - but really outside of Santa Cruz - 1h drive and you have to coordinate with HI-Bolivia or the manager ! a place to help and love animals - that's it - but if you like this - we can recommend it
