What a find! This hostel is lovely, and magical. We were very comfortable and had everything we needed for a relaxing stay in late October. We had the place to ourselves! We walked down to the outdoor hot tub at night, in the dark, in cold rain... and soaked ourselves for hours, watching the lights across the bay.

GOOD PLACE TO REST, GOOD HOT POOL.

These are basic accommodations, but that was just fine. This is no town nearby, so do not expect a restaurant. Their is a gas station/convenience store 10 minutes away for some food.

There is no-one stationed at the hostel in September, however the warden arrives after a quick phone call on arrival. The hostel itself is quite isolated, so make sure you bring food/drink with you. 3 bed room was ample in size, as were the communal kitchen and common room. Relaxed in the hot tub outside which has views stretching across the fjord and if you're lucky you'll see the northern lights. Would highly recommend this hostel to those travelling between Reykjavik and Akureyri
