Welcome to our hostel

Halfway between Reykjavík and Akureyri you’ll find Sæberg Hostel. Set in a renovated farmhouse by the sea in Hrútafjörður, its ideal for those looking for a peaceful countryside setting to relax and recharge the batteries.

Here you’ll find dorm rooms for 2-7 people, cottages for 4-5 people with self-contained kitchen facilities and toilets, and there’s a camping ground nearby. There’s also a great outdoor hot tub which is heated with the geothermal water from the local hot spring.

Explore walking paths along the shore and up to the moor – great for enjoying the wild birdlife. Also within walking distance of the hostel guests can find the local historical museum with popular exhibitions that uncover the daily life of past generations in the area.

It was amazing and the best hostel during our stay in Iceland. It is located next to a quiet fiord. You can even enjoy the nice landscape from the hot tub. The hostel was very clean. I can totally recommend this nice hostel.

I stay for one night, at this Hostel when I was trevaling from the Westfjords to Akureyri. So it was a good stay, as it was located roughly in the middle of my trip. Near by, I didn´t found any real top spots. The hostel as such is recommendable. Friendly staff, clear and comfortable accomodation, enough restrooms, and showerrooms. A hot bad outside is also includet in the price, very nice. Good Price-Performance value Compared to the other 6 Hostels I visited during my trip in Iceland.

We almost did not sleep at all due to a lot of noise from water pipes (or heating system? or some industry?) And it was way too hot inside.
