The hostel is located in the near of the center of one of the best preserved medieval towns in Germany, whose attractions include the Gothic Church of St Jacob, the Crime Museum (dedicated to medieval crime and punishment) and the impressive Imperial City Museum, which is situated in a former monastery.
The hostel offers space for 184 guests, internet access, laundry facilities, and meals. It is situated in a lovely location on the Tauber Valley and is almost 500 years old.
Various pubs and restaurants are within 15 minutes' walking distance. History is quite literally on the doorstep of the hostel as visitors can start a walking tour of the city walls from just outside the hostel. There is also a Nightwatchman Walking Tour which takes place during the summer for those wanting to see the city under the cover of darkness.
What travellers think
I like the staff at night who provided me the necessary help for a solo traveler. The breakfast is good. However, the location is hard and a bit far from train station. The internet is weak in the room.
