Newly opened 18 bed 4 star hostel on the southernmost edge of Cairngorms National Park., Prosen Hostel is set in the heart of the Angus Glens. A brand new footbridge & path leads along the prettiest stretch of the river Prosen to Glenisla, and the Cateran trail, in Perthshire. The Minister’s Path with another new bridge across the South Esk leads to the hotel in Glen Clova. Two Munros, the Mayar & Driesh, link Glenprosen to the Cairngorms plateau.

Inside there is a raised red squirrel viewing area in lounge, with wood burning stove, drying room, TV & internet. The village hall is nearby for ceilidhs etc.

Greeted on arrival , albeit that the Hostel isn't staffed. Given free wood for the stove.

Stayed a few weeks back, lovely vibe. It doesn't have staff floating about constantly (which is sound) that gives a more private relaxing experience. Wee log fire which was constantly on, brilliant.
