Pori has one of the liveliest local culture scenes in Finland
This blog post gives you ideas of places to visit while in Pori. http://hifinland.blogspot.fi/2013/02/pori-has-one-of-liveliest-local-culture.html
While staying at Hostel River in Pori it's worth taking a trip even a bit further from central town area. Reposaari island hosts a picture perfect wooden house district from the old days. Reposaari was one of Finland’s key ports in the days when majestic sailing ships plied the seas in the 17th to 19th century. Though those ships are no more, Reposaari remains an important outer harbour. The harbour means there's fresh fish served in the local restaurants everyday. Reposaari also is home to a recently restored complex of trenches and dugouts from the Second World War. Reposaari is situated 32 kilometres away from the centre of Pori. Take a local bus or make your way by car or even by bicycle.
