The gateway to the Western Isles, Oban Hostel makes a great base for touring, hiking, biking and boating. It is set on the seafront and is close to ferry terminals and a sailing school.

Accommodation is in 2 to 6-bedded rooms with family and private rooms available (with a lodge offering small en-suite rooms) and facilities include Internet access, on-site shop, laundry and a kitchen.

This hostel is an ideal base for exploring the surrounding area. Oban Distillery is only a 10-minute walk away and features a Sensory and Flavours Tour which runs regularly throughout the day. Oban War and Peace Museum is just 8 minutes’ walk away and the impressive McCaig’s Tower is about 15 minutes on foot.

Good location, large ensuite room. It was supposed to be a double room, but had two single beds pushed together, so the double sheets barely covered the mattresses. They kept pulling off because they were too small. When we asked for a resolution the bed was made up as two singles & pushed together. I'm not sure whether they actually have proper double rooms? The mattresses were either old or cheap, as they weren't very comfortable.
