Situated 4km from the city centre, Hostel Lorient is ideally located right on the edge of the Pond de Ter and only 4km from Brittany's beaches. Local attractions include the incredible megaliths in Erdeven and Carnac.
Hostel Lorient is open 24 hours and offers many facilities including Internet access, a self-catering kitchen, a games room, a TV room, a common room, and a garden with barbecue. Guests can also do their laundry on site, store luggage, attend a disco party and take part in sporting activities.
Historically Lorient was an important fishing and industrial port. One of the biggest attractions at Lorient is the German submarine base from the World War II. The modern town has a bustling centre and the Scorff and Blavet Valleys offer picturesque countryside, charming villages and stunning beaches.
What travellers think
Small but cozy hostel, the lighting could be better around the common area but the kitchen facilities were good. It was a bit out of the way to Lorient city center but it's tucked away by a beautiful forest trail so I can't complain.

Communication with the staff was a big problem, inenglish as well in french. Also the heating system did not work even we asked them to turn it on. The wifi is available only at the reception desk and is very slow. Nevetheless, I appreciated that the rooms are only for 2 persons.
