Leibertingen-Wildenstein

Burg Wildenstein (Wildenstein Castle) is on a cliff high above the Danube. The view: sensational. The 11th century castle brings explorers to the scene. Who wouldn’t want to stay in a castle for once? To listen out for ghosts at night? To look for secret passages during the day? Wildenstein Castle has secret passages. And maybe even ghosts, too.

Or would you rather explore the countryside? Hiking through the unspoilt landscape with side trips to castles, ruins and cliffs is almost mandatory: Wildenstein Castle is located in the Upper Danube Nature Reserve. Right in front of the castle gate, winding paths lure visitors into the wild, romantic Danube Valley. A forest learning trail offers lots of information. Guests can run around on our playing field. And the little “knights” and “damsels” can re-enact mediaeval life in the wooden play castle.

Burg Wildenstein Youth Hostel lies outside the municipality of Leibertingen. You can walk to the town in about 15 minutes and to the municipality of Beuron in about 60 minutes.

The Burg Wildenstein Youth Hostel team is looking forward to your visit!
