The Ring of Kerry Youth Hostel is an impressive 17th Century mansion, set in 75 acres of lawns and forests, overlooking the Lakes of Killarney and the Macguillycuddy's Reeks.

The hostel includes a variety of rooms, a self-catering kitchen, comfortable common areas, washing and drying facilities and free bed linen. You can relax outside while reading a book or just listening to signing birds on the garden seats and picnic benches.

This hostel is the centre for exploring the impressive scenery that is the Ring of Kerry. The 'Ring of Kerry Tour’ and the 'Gap of Dunloe Tour' depart daily from the Killarney Youth Hostel and show the visitor some of the most impressive scenery in the world. Enjoy boat trips or kayaking on the lakes, horse riding in the park, rock climbing or hiking in the surrounding area.

Among 5 Irish hostels I stayed in, one of the best. Great location, with all Killarney offers (Gap of Dunloe...). Most important, staff never got bored with a person staying several days, *continuing* to be friendly & informative when more information needed. (Also, when a security problem arose [a mentally unstable person disrupting and scaring other residents], staff was efficient about expelling her.) Over-crowded kitchen, not enough stove burners. Excellent beds, sitting rooms, conditions.
