Enjoyable stay in a clean & convenient hostel for central Innsbruck. Joining instructions from the HI booking/website did not state the booking in time for the hostel & this needs updating. I would stay here again.

Beautiful city and the hostel staff were friendly and helpful. I didn't find the locals friendly though. They wouldn't help with directions and a taxi driver was nasty

There were repeated loudspeaker announcements at 8.30 and 8.45 in the morning to warn guests of the 9am deadline for checking out. They made the hostel feel like a concentration camp! When we came to pick up our bags from the left luggage facility, it was clear that anybody could have walked out with them.

Dear customer, We are literally very shocked about the review you wrote for our hostel. What puts us into this state of shock is not the point that you criticized the loudspeaker announcements, that indeed exists, or the in your perception unsafe luggage room. Although we have to say that no property of our guests has ever been stolen or lost through the last 60 years of being a hostel in the summer months. Regarding those announcements we have experienced that they are a suitable measurement to finish the check-out in time. The alternative would be to collect the fee for another night. This seems not very helpful for the average backpacker or traveller on budget. From our point of view it is not justified by any means to compare a hostel to a concentration camp! You do not have the right to do so because you are insulting those people who really suffered and died in those facilities. A hostel, regardless how bad it might be and how many things to criticize it offers, has never any similarities with a concentration camp. You seem to be not informed about historic facts at all!
