Shower didn't work. Wi fi only in second building till 10pm. Bed too short. Some rooms were really cold. Only 1 power socket for 5 people in the room.

We are so very sorry that you did not have a good experience at Húsey. The Hostel is an old farm house which has been changed to the use of a hostel. As it states in our information we only have limited WiFi. We offer very basic facilities but attempt to keep those basic things in order and we apologise that you experienced a shower not working. We encourage minimum use of electricity and our electricity installations don´t manage many sockets being used at the same time. We are reviewing the availability within the hostel. The main heating system we use are two heatpumps which are environmentally much more friendly than our oil fired central heating system. In winter or during colder periods we add the oil fired central heating if required. In some rooms and when necessary we use free standing electric heaters. We apologise if you experienced your room being cold. Our beds are of different lengths, and we apologise if you were too tall for the allocated bed. Our enphasis is on people experiencing the old farmhouse, the nature and peasefulness at this remote location. We advice travellers to look at the information on our website and read the feedback from many of our happier guests before booking at our remote and basic Hostel. With regards, Elísabet on behalf of the team at Húsey.

I would like to apologise, you did not have a good experience at Húsey. There has been a great pressure on this family run hostel this summer. After having been very unwell during the summer farmer Örn Þorleifsson died of lung cancer on the 30th of October 2017. My niece Laufey and her husband Örn had run this hostel together for over 20 years, being proud of being able to offer travellers this very special remote place to stay. Húsey has been described by many nature loving visitors as one of the best places to stay in Iceland and that encourages us to carry on offering the service of the hostel and the horse riding. We listen to the opinions of visitors and try to continually improve our services. Elísabet, on behalf of the team in Húsey
