Remote, beautiful, and friendly. Wonderful aurora borealis activity during our stay in October and incomparable scenery. The house is warm, accommodating, and has every type of recycling bin imaginable, and the owners are lovely to deal with.

Compared to all Hostels during my Iceland trip, I have nothing to complain, except that it is located somewehre in the outback. If you want to relax and spend some time on the beach to observe some seals or make some horse rides it´s a good place to stay, in other cases you need to travel some time to get to next interesting spots (Eastfjords) for example. All other important things like accomodation, staff and so on are good. It´s a nice and charming Location.

The hostel is isolated but that was really nice. We were totally gone from the world during our stay. We enjoyed our ride to and from Húsey as well while watching Northern lights, seals and horses that just walked to our car to cuddle. It felt like we went back in time at the hostel but it all fit in at that place. The route description was good and useful, as google maps indicated a different place.

Fantastic little hostel, right out in the sticks but a perfect location. Fairly long gravel road drive to it but easily doable in 2wd 'normal' car. Great horse riding trip - hugely friendly hosts. Thank you!
