Originally a coast guard station, HI Truro is the furthest hostel out on the ‘arm’ of Cape Cod. Located in the Cape Cod National Seashore, the hostel is just a 5 minute walk from the beach. Large picture windows provide a breathtaking view from the spacious kitchen and dining area.

This Truro hostel has two private rooms and a mixed dormitory room. Breakfast, Wi-Fi access and parking are all free. The hostel is open to individuals and small groups of friends, but not to large groups.

HI Truro provides easy access to fresh water ponds, bike paths, cranberry bogs, whale watching and nature trails. Provincetown, a mecca for artists, with its numerous art galleries and craft shops, is just 10 miles away. Dining and visiting the quaint shops are a must for any visit.

I love that windows are open to bring in the fresh sea breeze, but on the second floor when it's hot and humid, it it's very uncomfortable. Some sort of cooling mechanism would be great. Also during this last visit, folks were pretty noisy after quiet time. Otherwise, staff are/were very accommodating and warm, and the hostel is/was nearly spotless, which is a challenge to make happen with so many folks coming and going.
