Originally a coast guard station, HI Truro is the furthest hostel out on the ‘arm’ of Cape Cod. Located in the Cape Cod National Seashore, the hostel is just a 5 minute walk from the beach, located 2 miles( 3.2 km) from the nearest bus stop. Large picture windows provide a breathtaking view from the spacious kitchen and dining area.

This Truro hostel has two private rooms and a mixed dormitory room. Breakfast and parking are free. The hostel is open to individuals and small groups of friends, but not to large groups.

HI Truro provides easy access to fresh water ponds, bike paths, cranberry bogs, whale watching and nature trails. Provincetown, a mecca for artists, with its numerous art galleries and craft shops, is just 10 miles away. Dining and visiting the quaint shops are a must for any visit.

I did not stay at Truro. My plans changed and I could not make the trip. I cancelled 4 weeks in advance and did not receive my deposit back because I made my reservation on line, I called the main office and left message but no one returned my call. I will not make reservations on line again.

The staff was not always nice. We arrived late and almost slept on the couch. There were spiders everywhere. The wifi was very poor.
