Originally a coast guard station, HI Truro is the furthest hostel out on the ‘arm’ of Cape Cod. Located in the Cape Cod National Seashore, the hostel is just a 5-minute walk from the beach. Large picture windows provide a breathtaking view from the spacious kitchen and dining area. The Truro hostel has two private rooms in addition to dorms. Breakfast and parking are free.

HI Truro provides easy access to fresh water ponds, bike paths, cranberry bogs, and nature trails. Provincetown, with its whale-watching opportunities and its vibrant street life, art galleries, shops, and restaurants is just 10 miles away.

The hostel is located 2 miles (3.5 km) from the nearest bus stop, so bring along a bicycle for the hostel visit if not travelling by car. Bike rentals are available in Orleans and Provincetown, and Cape Cod buses are equipped with bike racks.

I don't mind walking but it is a very long walk to the main road. If you could figure out ''how'' to get guests to and from ''JAMS'' that would be awesome!

It was honestly quite hard to get to the hostel based solely on public transportation. I would recommend anyone arriving by bus to arrive in full daylight with a backpack, minimal luggage, or a bike w/ panniers. The hostel has a great location down a long windy road with a beach only a few hundred steps away. I used the hostel to explore Provincetown and found the bike ride quite reasonable...provided you leave enough daylight to accomplish it.
