Welcome to our hostel

Seasonal Hostel: Open June 29 - September 1, 2018.
Originally a coast guard station, HI Truro is the furthest hostel out on the ‘arm’ of Cape Cod. Located in the Cape Cod National Seashore, the hostel is just a 5-minute walk from the beach. Large picture windows provide a breathtaking view from the spacious kitchen and dining area. The Truro hostel has two private rooms in addition to dorms. Breakfast and parking are free.

HI Truro provides easy access to fresh water ponds, bike paths, cranberry bogs, and nature trails. Provincetown, with its whale-watching opportunities and its vibrant street life, art galleries, shops, and restaurants is just 10 miles away.

The hostel is located 2 miles (3.5 km) from the nearest bus stop, so bring along a bicycle for the hostel visit if not travelling by car. Bike rentals are available in Orleans and Provincetown, and Cape Cod buses are equipped with bike racks.

Seasonal Hostel: Open June 29 - September 1, 2018.

Mgr (Kathryn from No Carolina) was very good. The urinals in the Men’s restroom were in a state of repair, limiting facility to two toilet stalls. The Mgr did state this in advance. Women too lazy to climb stairs to upper floor chose to violate exclusivity of bathroom to men. There should be additional signs & information provided to female guests upon check-in that stresses the exclusivity of the restrooms. How would the women feel if we used their restroom? Annoying!! There are also no signs that parking on hostel grounds is for hostel guests. The general public who visit the beach do NOT know this. This could limit convenience of hostel guests by not having parking space. I would recommend HI to a friend. I would HIGHLY recommend Truro Hostel to a friend. Based on my experience in 2015, I would NOT recommend Nantucket Hostel to anyone (due to poor management). I would highly recommend Martha’s Vineyard to a friend. I’ve stayed there thrice (maybe even four times). Note: your check mark and X mark are not working in the Would you recommend section.

It has the vibe of staying at an aunt or friends home by the sea, lovely visit for me! Thank you HI TRURO :)-

The men’s bathroom was in a terrible state. Flooded floor. Both urinals broken and covered in wet, dirty towels. Discovered bed bug bites on my back after checking out early. The basement dorm felt more like a prison. Hardly any natural light and static air. I do no recommend.

Thank you for your feedback. I am sorry your stay was disappointing. We are in the process of completely renovating the Men's restroom, which will be a big improvement. We are hiring a cleaning staff to help clean the hostel and we are getting new LED lighting and fans for all the rooms.

We stayed in the women's dorm, which was great. Comments from the men's and co-ed dorms not so much. It's an old building and many items were in disrepair. Staff was doing their best, but in the three nights we were there, I think they called a plumber twice.

Thanks for the review. This is an old building and maintenance is always going on. We are in the process of some major renovations, including redoing the entire men's bathroom.
