Excellent hostel, beautiful location. I loved the good beds, full kitchen, helpfulness of the staff, and little touches, like a fresh local newspaper in the reading room. A couple suggestions: replace the paper towels in the bathrooms (to clean hands) with small towels that could be laundered, just like you do in the kitchen. Also, it seems odd that the guests are locked out from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., but perhaps this is because of all the tourists checking out the lighthouse.

Such a cool place! We loved staying at a lighthouse, watching it come on at night after the sun set behind. We also had fun meeting interesting people form around the world. Comfy, clean and friendly, helpful staff.

Attraction tip

The new "learn how to fire a cannon" program at Fort Wllington (www.pc.gc.ca/wellington). This is a Canadian National Park so you will need a passport to travel from the States.
