HI-Rossburn, 9 Finger Ranch is situated halfway between Winnipeg and Regina (320 km North West of Winnipeg, 300 km East of Regina and 150 km North of Brandon), offering a stunning view up to the Riding Mountain National Park. Horseback riding is offered at the hostel for a reduced fee to HI members – everything from an hour at home to overnight stays in the National Park. Rossman Lake is a 5 min drive away featuring Golf Course and Restaurant plus fishing and swimming, and the Trans Canada Trail is passing through the community.This is a working cattle ranch where Tennessee Walking Horses are raised and trained. Fresh garden products are available during the season. Getting to the hostel: Take the bus to Brandon/Erickson (see above) or rent a car 3.5 hrs from Winnipeg Airport 1.5 hrs from Brandon Greyhound bus brings you to Brandon MB. The Brandon Airport Shuttle bus can take you along to Erickson but you are still close to an hour drive away from us. Contact us beforehand for details and to arrange a ride. The best method of reaching us is via car. From the Town of Rossburn go North on HW # 264 for 3.2 km. Turn then East on HW # 577 (Rossman Lake Road) for 6 4 km. Turn North on Road 141 W and follow the road for 2.4 km. Turn right at house number 118107 From Winnipeg: Highway 1 West turn after Portage La Prairie onto Yellow Head Highway 16 follow until after Shoal Lake. Then turn into HW 264 N which will bring you to Rossburn. See above to find the ranch.From Brandon: Take HW 10 North until it joins HW 16 follow # 16 until Shoal Lake.
