Situated in one of Portland's most popular destinations, Portland Hawthorne Hostel offers quaint eateries, coffee houses, pubs, unique shops and the famous Bagdad Brewpub and Theatre. It's the perfect blend of urban pulse and friendly attitude.

The hostel offers a spacious kitchen and common rooms, comfortable beds and free Wi-Fi. There are free bagels and pastries, $1 pancake breakfasts and coffee and tea are served. Outside there are front decks and a side yard for relaxing and people watching.

Discounted bike rentals are available as well as tours from the hostel to the Columbia Gorge, Mount St. Helens, whale watching and historic Portland. A quick trip to city attractions such as Powell's Books, the Old Town, weekend market, Washington Park and Willamette River Promenade are also recommended.

We had a truly wonderful stay at Hawthorne. The rooms and bathrooms were very clean and comfortable. The huge communal table downstairs is a great place for breakfast, researching and meeting people. The lovely shaded garden was great to relax in and read. I feel that all other hostels will now suffer because of Hawthorne as I think it truly excels in its mission to provide a low cost, comfortable, exceptionally well located, green accommodation. Can't recommend it enough.
