Welcome to our hostel

Please note that during the Pope’s visit September 25-28, 2015, there will be extremely limited service on public transportation; that many roads and entire areas of Philadelphia will be CLOSED to AUTOMOBILES, however, open to bikes and pedestrians; and public transportation from Chamounix to Center City will be affected during this time. For more information please visit Originally built in 1802 as a country home, the mansion rests on a scenic bluff above the Schuylkill River and is convenient to Philadelphia's cultural and historic attractions, sporting events, and restaurants. Nestled in a wooded setting, the hostel offers a welcoming front porch and two communal rooms restored to 1850 and furnished with antiques. A marble fireplace graces the 19th-Century parlor and a wonderful mural of the historic Water Works on the Schuylkill River can be found in the main hallway.
