Great place to use as a home base at Itasca State Park. Kitchen facilities make keeping the vacation's food costs down. Plan for a car or bike to get you around as the park is large and there are long distances between park activities and nearby towns.

I have stayed at the Headwaters Hostel many times. Sarah and her family is always welcoming and helpful! She works to create an atmosphere of hospitality. I will continue to stay in the future and encourage others to stay at the Headwaters Hostel.

Wonderful place to stay! Very friendly staff. Was hard to find - my GPS took me to a different location. Might be helpful to put up a sign on that road with directions to the actual hostel location. Cost me about $30 to fire up my out-of-country phone to check the website.

Sara is very helpful and accommodating. I was pleased to see that she now sells some basic foodstuffs. That is great for those of us arriving by bicycle.

Great Place to Stay -- Older adults and families don't miss this place. Take a walk across the mouth of the Mississippi River.

Great hostel....I would upgrade the quality of the sheets but otherwise a great experience and above my expectations.
