The 3,363-metre peak of Mt. Edith Cavell towers over our little hostel set in a narrow valley below this spectacular setting. An ideal base from which to explore Angel Glacier, Cavell Meadows or Tonquin Valley. This is a Wilderness Hostel. No running water, outdoor toilets and NO electricity.
What travellers think
James did not know that we needed to drive our car to the corral across the street to deliver supplies to Tonquin Valley. He strongly discouraged us from driving where we needed. Would be good to be informed. Said he was in a hurry to get out and could we hurry and get out. That did not feel so friendly. And also that since there were only two of us we couldn't have a fire in the bunkhouse. Many more people came that night. Still no fire. It snowed that night, so it was cold! Ernie was great.
