HI-Korea is a cheerful hostel just 3 minutes’ walk to Haeudae Beach in the bustling city of Busan. The bright and colourful hostel is a great place to meet and socialise with other travellers.

Dorm rooms include wooden bunk beds which were handmade by the owner and each include a pretty light and pair of curtains for privacy. Other amenities include shared bathrooms, free Wi-Fi, free use of laundry facilities, the Travel Café in the lobby, a guest kitchen and a delicious complimentary breakfast.

The hostel is just 600 metres from Dongbaek subway station and right next to a bus station giving easy access to all the main sights and attractions of Busan. Dongbaekseom, a woodland nature reserve, is a 10-minute walk away and Centum City, currently the biggest department store in the world, is 10 minutes away by public transport.

Pro: Excellent location, clean, quiet and safe. Close to the Haeundae beach and walking distance to the happening night-life streets around Haeundae market. Unbeatable for the price. Cons: There was a really cute cat in the lobby which unfortunately resulted in allergies for me. Not a con per se, unless you're allergic to cat dander. The rooms have no windows so it's not for the claustrophobic. There is only one bathroom for guys (and one for girls) so there's bit of a rush in the mornings.
