Loretta, the hostel manager was very hospitable. She welcomed me with such warmth that she made what would have been an otherwise bleak getaway from the city into a familial and enjoyable weekend. Her breakfasts are amazing, unlike any I have had at any other HI hostel and I have stayed in many (Paris, HI-Chamounix, HI-Montreal, HI-Santa Monica and D.C). The Civil War Dinner was most enjoyable. It was appropriately during the John Brown Raid anniversary, so good for a round-table discussion

First time in a Hostel. Interesting concept and enjoyed the experience. For a biker, the location was a little inconvenient at the end of a hard day up hill a full mile off of the trail. But, it was worth it for the experience. Food and bed were great. I would do gain for sure.

This was a very cozy and clean hostel with great amenities! The outside area is great in nice weather, too!
