I had to leave early in the morning and had to leave my breakfast things behind as the kitchen didn't open until 0730

I had a really good time staying at the HI-Halifax. Met a lot of great people and the stuff was always helpful with questions.

The Hi-Halifax is a large hostel that offers a lot of facilities, that make it easy to find your way. It's close to the sea and not far out of the city center. An ideal point to start exploring Halifax!

Good place, busy, great location. Kitchen needs some repairs to stove and ventilation.

Good hostel but they need to replace the worn out furniture and invest in more crockery etc. Also need a hot water boiler or bigger kettle. Could also replace sleeping sheets, duvets which were rather grubby.

Being in a 'street facing' room ear plugs were needed. Stairs and heavy suitcases are not a good match, but not a big issue. VERY close to shops/stores for groceries. Kitchen has everything, even a blender!! Room locker will fit a backpack/ruck sack. Bus is outside the front door to get to the town center. Or it;s 10min walk.

I had a great stay. The weather was awful, but the hostel felt like home. Remember the 24 hour cancellation policy.. my only complaint is that I gave 20 hours notice, but did not receive a refund for my last night, which I skipped. So, they are great.. just not perfect.
