The Heritage House hostel is located in downtown Halifax, just 200m from the bus and train stations, so getting here is easy! Halifax, founded in 1749, to establish British strength in North America has much history and culture, including a cool, summer Jazz Festival, a funky Busker's Festival, the International Tattoo, and the Titanic Graveyard.

The 160-year-old heritage building is clean and safe and exudes a great vibe. Our private/family rooms, dorm rooms all include linen in the cost. There are coin operated internet kiosks and free Wi-Fi as well as laundry for your convenience.

In summer time we host a great Wednesday Pub Crawl, a Friday BBQ, and pancake breakfasts three times a week. The hostel is close to the city's best music, pubs, and Harbour Front and some of the best seafood you'll enjoy in Canada.

* As a senior travelling I don't have funds to use hotels and have been very happy with the reception I've received at the hostels. I appreciate that older people are not left out but are welcomed. * I was happy to see the location of the hostel - easy to find and very close to Halifax Harbour, VIA Rail, Greyhound Bus, car rental. I was able to walk everywhere.

If the kitchen were left open overnight, it would be helpful for people leaving early in the morning or arriving late. The 7:30am opening is a little bit inconvenient for early risers.
