Halifax Hostel

Hostel Halifax

Hostelling International

Welcome to our hostel

The Heritage House hostel is located in downtown Halifax, just 200m from the bus and train stations, so getting here is easy! Halifax, founded in 1749, to establish British strength in North America has much history and culture, including a cool, summer Jazz Festival, a funky Busker's Festival, the International Tattoo, and the Titanic Graveyard.

The 160-year-old heritage building is clean and safe and exudes a great vibe. Our private/family rooms, dorm rooms all include linen in the cost. There are coin operated internet kiosks and free Wi-Fi as well as laundry for your convenience.

In summer time we host a great Wednesday Pub Crawl, a Friday BBQ, and pancake breakfasts three times a week. The hostel is close to the city's best music, pubs, and Harbour Front and some of the best seafood you'll enjoy in Canada.

Please provide plugs for the sinks to help guests conserve water. A regular inspection of electrical plug sockets in the rooms is required as some are loose and dangerous. I find this in many hostels. Please can it be flagged up throughout the whole HI Hostels association. Many thanks.

We stayed here three nights while we traveled Nova Scotia. The location is excellent, a short walk to the harbor front. The kitchen is pretty clean and has everything you need to make your own meals. Staff was knowledgeable and friendly, and the price was fantastic! If you're looking to travel on a budget and don't care about all of the bells and whistles, I would definitely recommend Hi Halifax!
