Our 4-night stay in this hostel was a terrible experience: dirty bathrooms, tiny and uncomfortable rooms, someone knocking at our door in the middle of the night for 3 nights in a row. In a word, I urge anyone who's thinking about booking a stay there to consider other options

Very difficult to find. The long, poorly light driveway through the woods felt unsafe after dark. Everybody else staying there seemed to be long term residents. There was no girl's bathroom that I could find, so I snuck into the guy's- still couldn't shower there though. There was also no way to lock the lockers in the room and a small lock on the room door. At breakfast, my jam packet was mouldy when I opened it, and given that we were being stared at by the other residents, we left in a hurry.

Staff were incredibly rude, especially one woman on my second day.The internet didn't work, the location was terrible, the place smelled of sweat and garbage, the bathrooms were dirty,my mattress was sunken in the middle, and all beds in my room looked old and made a lot of noise. The hostel is also hidden in a forest and the road leading up to it is destroyed and looks like it hasn't been repaired for decades.Rolling my suitcase on that road was awful. This was a waste of money and tainted our visit.

In my opinion, the major drawback & plus-point of Villa Camerata is it's unique location. If you prefer to enjoy the nature and relax, then the hostel is the best. But, if you are staying for 1/2 days, then keep in mind that it's quite far away from the central area (20-30 min by bus from the station). One can use the lockers at the station for extra euros. Moreover, the rooms, linens, toilets are also dirty.
