Edinburgh Metro Youth Hostel is just minutes from the historic Grassmarket, the Scottish Parliament and all the Edinburgh Festival action, when the town comes alive with many fantastic venues just around the corner.

Please note that all rooms are accessed via stairs only - a lift is not available.

Our stay in Metro Edinburgh was nice, we thought however that the kitchengear was very poor: 1 pan and 1 bowl. Enough mugs though. For safety: our last night we had a visitor who tried all the doors en than went outside again. But we reported this already.

As a woman traveling alone, I was pleased that there were all female accommodations. I also liked that all of the rooms were singles, as this meant I could leave my backpack at the hostel without having to worry about anyone going through it. However, I thought my room could have been cleaner, the building seemed a bit creepy, and I did not appreciate how loud my neighbors in the men's wing were. If I were visiting Edinburg again, I would see if the main youth hostel had availability first.
