Super hostel, sehr nettes personal!

I had my backpack stolen with my passport, train ticket to Stockholm, credit card, and foreign currency. The location of the hostel is in a bad area of Copenhagen. Furthermore, there was absolutely no security to prevent non-guests from entering the lobby and common areas; only to the sleeping rooms upstairs did you need a card to get through. So many individuals who lived in the neighborhood could easily walk in and use the common areas such as the kitchen, eating areas, and tv lounge.

Hi. I am sorry to hear about your experience. I can't find any record of anyone reporting a stolen backpack, did it happen in the hostel? Our baggage room is secured by a keycard, that is only issued to guests checking in or out that day. It is correct that the lobby and bar are open to the public, but this is standard in most hotels and hostels worldwide. We would be very interested in hearing more details about the situation, so please email us if you have the time (This website won't allow me to post an email here, but you can find it on our website) As for it being a bad area of Copenhagen, I think you are mistaking us with another hostel. We are actually in the safest area of one of the safest cities in Europe, only a 5 min walk from both city hall and all major transport options. Once again I'm very sorry to hear about your bad experience and hope you still enjoyed your days in Copenhagen. Best, Line, Danhostel Copenhagen City
