Gimli is a large, beautiful house by the main street in the centre of Dalvík, ideally situated above the harbour. From there it is a short distance of 500m to the town which features a grocery store, café and restaurant among other things.

Dalvík is a typical fishing village surrounded by the ocean, deep valleys and the high mountains of the Tröllaskagi peninsula. There are countless things to do in Dalvík such as whale watching, museums, horse riding, great hiking routes and areas for outdoor activity, bird watching in a nature reserve, golf and skiing! During the winter there is the chance of seeing the Northern Lights. From Dalvík the ferry Sæfari sails three times a week to Grímsey Island which lies on the Arctic Circle.
