You do not need to be university to visit Coimbra and know the "city of students", as it is known. Take a walk through the city and soak up the atmosphere of academic traditions, observe the many student residences (republics), the robes torn and the old university. Who knows? Perhaps one day you will end up studying here! If you enjoy canoeing, don't miss the opportunity to rowing on Mondego river. But if you prefer more sports alternative, then Serra da Lousã is the place to practice everything related to mountaineering and adventure. Oh, and don't forget: there are academic festivities throughout the year, with very few interruptions.
