If you are only using this as a base for day trips or treks then it should be fine. If, however, you will want to go into the night markets or the old city and don't want to spend half your day walking there, and especially if you are a solo female, I would not recommend this. I was fine with the distance when booking, I like a walk, but it's through a fairly dodgy area at night and I didn't feel safe - especially after returning late with no one around and the wrong room key. Too scared and left.

I had a postive experience here and Peter was very helpful with advice both before my arrival via email and while I was there. The room was tidy and came with it's own bathroom. It is located in an area a bit far from town, which for me was great because I like to walk, but for some it may be too far. There were dogs barking occasionally, which I also like, but for some this may pose a problem. Inexpensive and serves it's purpose. I would stay here again as well as recommend it.
