Private room had no furniture, no wardrobe or drawers? See port Douglas yha to compare. It's the same price. Otherwise all good 3especially the lovely staff.

Loved the pool and courtyard area. Good location close to all town attractions. Only downside was the $18.50 shuttle fee to and from airport. (Airport is a long way from town).

Great location, nice clean and modern rooms. Could have done with more plugs near the beds and not half way up the wall but only a minor inconvenience. Lots of different mixes in ages and group dynamics. Excellent stay.

Very friendly welcome. Useful info. Reasonably priced. Didn't use cooking facilities so can't comment.

The hostel is really well located and staff take time to suggest you excursion which are the most suited to your expectations. BUT you have to pay everything!!!! WIFI, locker for your luggage even if you want to let them only for 2 hours, towels... It is a shame for a YHA Pancakes in the morning were delicious! Don't change the receipt!

The reception staff are always there to help you. The day before I left, I went to the reception to view the bus times for going to the airport. The receptionist asked if I was ok. I told her I was just looking at the bus times and that I was required to ring to book it the day before. The receptionist offered to do it for me.

Great location for the train. 5 blocks walk to the Esplanade - there are hostels closer than the YHA but can't comment on their quality. Beds & bedding are very good. Air con is essential most of the time. Reception people are excellent.
